Do You Ever Worry Too Much?

Many of us find ourselves worrying or feeling anxious at times.

Some of us experience anxiety when we want to make a good first impression or when we expect to meet a new person.

It is normal to worry about new situations, choices we may need to make or new work assignments.

Every person reacts to situations differently, both physically and psychologically.

Whether and how much one worries fluctuates from situation to situation and varies from person to person.

Estimates are that 9% of people experience a severe case of anxiety at some time.

When anxious feelings become a burden, it is time to address the situation.

Before a worry contributes to a medical condition, consider seeking assistance.

The following could be symptoms of worry that need to be addressed.

Feeling keyed up or on edge

Mind going blank because of anxiety

Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep

Constant irritability

Feeling obsessed or preoccupied with some concern

If we find ourselves constantly feeling anxious, worrying or not able to "cope" it is time to address the issue.

Some initial ways to deal with anxious feelings include:

Sharing our concerns with a friend

Exercise

Practice stress and relaxation techniques

If feelings of anxiety or worry continue to be a burden, consider seeking help
